The Gazoo series of Gazania seeds features large 3-inch, brilliant, daisy-like flowers held on strong stems, above vigorous 10-inch tall plants. In comparison to other Gazanias, the Gazoo series requires less light to open its flowers, and the blooms stay open longer, making them ideal for landscaping. They are unequaled in borders or containers and are grown as a summer annual in most of the country, but they are perennial in zones 8-10.

Gazania Treasure Flowers are excellent plants for the front of sunny garden borders and also perform well as a flowering ground cover when planted in large groups. Due to their heat and drought tolerance, Gazanias are especially useful near driveways and sidewalks. They also thrive in mixed container plantings, pots, baskets, and window boxes. This series produces blooms that stay open longer, allowing you to enjoy them more, even at night or on cloudy days.

For those in colder climates, it is recommended to start Gazania seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last expected frost. The seeds should be pressed into the soil but not covered, and kept moist but not saturated until germination occurs. After germination, reduce watering and grow seedlings in a sunny window location. In warmer climates, the seeds can be started directly outdoors in a prepared seedbed, spacing them 8-12 inches apart.

Gazania care includes deadheading the spent flowers to promote the growth of more blooms. Additionally, Gazania plants benefit from an application of balanced liquid fertilizer every other week during the growing season, or a mix of slow-release fertilizer.
